You're playing Dragon Age ,right? Good game but it's filled with a lot fluff, just like Skyrim (a little to much like Skyrim). You could finish it for like 60 to 80 hours but all of the content could probably take a lot more. You could go for different quest on your second play through but frankly they all side quest feel empty. You should just focus on the companion quests for side missions.

MMOs are designed after extensive studies to basically get you hook with a slow sense of progression through stimulating your dopamine receptors. And the "chosen one" trope doesn't work in conjunction with the gameplay.

I recently started playing Dragon Age. I noticed that the "requisition table" items are neverending, but not necessary. So far they haven't made me go on quests for no reason. Most of their quests state why you're going on it, and those reasons seem solid (e.g. Rescue missing soldiers; get horses for the army; etc). I just got to Skyhold, so maybe I'm not far enough to see the "filler" quests. But if the quests are optional, that's fine. I just don't like it when they make it part of your storyline.
