The mainstream popular console always have the better hold of the family friendly games market. (SNES, Playstation, PS2, Wii, PS3, 360)

By family-friendly I'm not talking about a console for the whole family, but a "safe" console. I might be wrong on this, but the strategy here seems to be kids start off with a Nintendo console and a handheld, moving on to cooler pastures later. Most will grow out of Nintendo, but there are always more kids to sell to.
