Not quite the same. The Wii was radically different from the GameCube. The PS4 builds on what made the PS3 great.

If Nintendop hadn't had the GC they wouldn't have tried something radically new. And really, very few of the bad design choices for the PS3 transferred over to PS4. Nintendo learned their lesson with GC, as did Sony with PS3. Sony took what was good with PS3, ditched the bad things, and gave us PS4. It is quite the same.
