Most of my favorite games of all time, are Japanese made: Super Mario Bros., Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Mega Man, Castlevania, Puzzle Bobble, SFII, Star Tropics, Pikmin, Golden Axe, Final Fight, Double Dragon, Aero Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Final Fantasy, etc. etc.
There are certainly western developed games I like, even older ones. But by and large, I like the way Japanese games at least USED to be made. That's why I still like Nintendo, and love many of the indies (even western ones), because they still make games more in that style.
