i consider destiny to be a failure in terms of the hype because that turned out to be half a game aswell. its sells were much better than titanfall but that's because it came out on ps4 so it prob did similar to titanfall. but if they made that game with twice the content it prob would be doing a lot better than it has. Activision shareholders made it clear they weren't happy with the sales.

I don't know what you mean by the "xbox vs ps4 situation" but the situation i'm familiar with was one where the game was hyped to be the next gears of war and the xbox one's saviour versus the ps4. i didn't create that situation so don't blame it on me. some xbox fans, the media and EA did.

It came out and the month of release it couldn't even get the xbox one to win npd. destiny on the other hand gave ps4 a massive september victory. One of these games moved consoles in big numbers but the other didn't. I do think Destiny is ultimitely a failure to but just to a lesser extent.

Well Destiny's failure in hype is one thing we agree on. But still like Sales said Titanfall sold at least 4 million between 3 platforms with the Xbox One version selling more or doubling the 360 version without digital sales. So no matter how you spin this Titanfall is a sucess. We are done with this discussion.

I'm not spinning it. I'm saying the game didn't meet the hype in quality or sales and the fact is failed to boost the X1 significantly enough to even beat the PS4 the month it released in the USA which is it's strongest market. It failed.

4 million on 2 Xbox consoles isn't a massive success? Not even "near" one? Forget hype and marketing (which is pretty much the same thing), it sold amazing for what it was, and during a period where X1 was selling at a alltime low compared to PS4.

Dont even know why you brought this up to begin with. It released, it sold well, it isn;t on PS4, but T2 will be. Let it go.

I didn't bring it up so i've nothing to let go. The reality is it was hyped as the game of the generation and ended up bring outsold by lots of games on the ps4 alone. It also only sold 4 million between 360, pc and x1 which is not actually good considering the install base, the mega hype and the huge discounts on the game within the first 8 months. No matter how you spin it, it failed.

Again, hype doesn't mean that the game will have to sell a lot of games or it  will have to do Halo or COD numbers. For sales of Titanfall on the Xbox One it was #1 in the software charts at the time but now it was beaten by Destiny and Advance Warfare mostly because of the bigger install base when those games were released(compare the install base of the X1 when Titanfall came out). Why do you say it has to outsell some PS4 games? You do know a new game/franchise like Titanfall isn't comparable to some of the popular yearly games like FIFA,right? So again no matter how you try to downplay Titanfall it still is a sucessfull game.
