they would have known pre orders and if they were high enough to give xbox the boost they wanted that month they wouldn't have done such a big deal month #1. Orgiven it the many cuts in price in the months after.
Yeah so basically it was a failure on the original promise/hyped vision. It didn't live up to it and so sales didn't reach the heights they wanted. Note I've not daid sales were bad, just it failed to reach the level of hype.
