Until they prove me otherwise, I am classifying this under the "World's Fair Tech" heading: cool to show off but little practical use or advantage over the standard. The Kinect was mostly like this with its inability to provide a means to navigate full 3D space like the move and Wii. It's cool but lacks a purpose and utility.
