lazy programmers dev'd to search for "Win 9" instead of Win 95 and 98 so forced MS to skip.

One of those is true, not sure which.


i wanted to believe the Win 9 search problem but then you look at Visual Studio, where the code version is 12 and the product is 13, so Marketing have no issue ignoring whatever the code version is.

It really doesnt matter tho, better than many of the previous windows names. Lets just be gratfull they didnt call it Windows One
