No, not at all a failure, unless on a personal level you think that selling less units than the PS4 is a failure, but it the system end up selling 60m + units for the generation and gets out some great exclusives, then i personally would say they have done well.
Then if there is another generation of consoles, hopefully they have a much much better launch and have a console that is just as powerful if not more powerful then the competition.
