There's usually a tonne of time between Zelda releases, so a game that releases twice as fast and gets similar praise would be seen as more popular overall, but it could just be that it's so long between Zelda releases that the time nobody talks about it is longer.

Alright, so you say that the big gap between Zelda releases is what's drecreasing the popularity of the series, as with no games around the series is not talked about unlike something like AssCred that already has more games than the Zelda series and gets so many games all the time that people keep talking about them?

Fair enough, I guess that's a compeling argument, however why doesn't the same affect something like GTA? Games barely get released yet the series is incredibly popular, same goes for something like Metal Gear Solid, Smash Bros. and whatnot, barely any releases in lenghy periods of time yet incredibly popular.

And its not like Nintendo releases something Zelda related one year, then its nothing for 2 years until another game, since 2011 Nintendo has released something Zelda related nearly every year since 2011.

2011- Ocarina of Time 3D, Skyward Sword, For Swords Anniversary

2012 - Zelda minigame in NintendoLand (grasping at straws I know :P)

2013 - Wind Waker HD, A Link Between Worlds

2014 - Hyrule Warriors

2015 - Majora's Mask 3D, Zelda U.

Note that I said Zelda related, not Zelda game, hence Hyrule Warriors, so its not like lack of releases are stopping people of talking about the games, the brand is getting games on a constant basis, people just don't talk so much about them.
