If you are not the best #1 you have failed, its just a fact of the matter.  Evry counter argument is just opinion and felling but a fact is a fact.

No it doesn't. Being #1 isn't the be all end all. Something can be succesful without being #1. Not everything is a competition and even if it was you can still be succesful without winning. You used a hockey example, but I'm more familiar with football so I'll go with that. Arsenal hadn't won a trophy for many years but they qualified for the top club competition pretty much every year, for them that was a successful season. Then there are the lower down teams that don't have a chance of actually winning, for them success is just staying in the division.

I fail to see a correlation with a championship side just happy to "be in the top league" and MS one of the richest most powerfull corporations in the world.  

Especialy how MS them selves said they are in it to freakling WIN it, not to be second to any oen especially a broke ass sony.
