Need some serious opinions.

I just had a fight with my mom over (what i find) to be really ridicolous about what she is forbidding me. This very saturday i'm holding a party with some friends in celebration to my birthday. After that we go out and some girl i know really well (but we have no relationship) wanted to sleep at my place, in my bed (no intentions for having sex). My mom said this was stupid and isn't going to happen. I asked why and she said because she isn't your girlfriend. The thing is, she only wants to sleep here because she can go out till the late hours in the night, because if she sleeps at home her mom wakes up and needs to work early on sunday. Now tell me, am i being weird or is my mom?
