also,.. lol at taking two franchises with nearly identical sales per platform and calling one niche and the other popular. oh what will they think of next..

Souls is niwhere near in sales to Borderlands. It's barely selling half the units. It's niche because it sells to fans of a particular genre and is completely inaccessible to anybody outside.

Borderlands is a FPS which is significantly more popular among general population. It is very accessible and easy to play. Also, I believe that many newcomers that pucked up a PS4 for Destiny will give BL a shot, as it is of similar gameplay aspects with a lot of character modification. BL has a chance to pick up a portion of new audience there.

only if you pit exclusive sales against all platform sales.  if you just look at ps3 sales they sell pretty similar.   and if you are seriously going to tell me a game that sold 2 and 3 million units is "niche" i'm just done talking to you now because you just decribed all but like 10 active franchises..

edit: and your, "- BL2 sold over 2 million on PS3, but PreSequel barely made it to half million. Many fans have obviously moved to PS4 already (along with some X360 users) and will jump on the opportunity to play it now." works against you in a lot of ways.   dark souls 2 launched after the ps4 just like the presequel and guys like me had already moved to ps4 and were  waiting for the eventual ps4 port.   ..and ds2 was double the presequel.
