I know about the PS2 expansion bay, but the PS2 barely cared enough about the hard drive and knew it was ALMOST worthless for the PS2. How do I know this? The Slim.

It always seems to be Sony fanboys who always bring up old, obscure, unsimilar hardware from the 80s as proof that it's not innovation. I remember when I listed Nintendo innovations a couple years ago I mentioned the analog stick and they found some weird soccer game with a kinda-analog stick. I thought that was hilarious.
