You had a huge set of ribbons rewarding many activities, and timed activities (like planting special seasonal crops) often rewarded with special items (sometimes useful, particularly if you ranked high compared to friends, most often just ornamental collectibles). Not always completely equivalent to achievements or trophies, but often similar, particularly in the mental mechanism they trigger to keep gamers hooked to a game that was becoming boring and never was so good since the beginning (but since then designed to become obsessive-compulsive).
