They didn't even make an official Smash Bros bundle. Why would they make one for XCX?

Well they did do a Mario Kart 8 bundle.  I think we could see a Smash bundle yet, if only to bump sales pre-summer.  Splatoon and Xenoblade could get one to help boost sales in the slower mid-year period.  Cause I really do think that's the determining factor, whether they feel the boost is needed.
