You are not alone. I don't care about them at all. I turned my notifications off so I don't even know if I won a trophy, and I never check lists to see what trophies there are.
I understand people that like them and collect them, but I prefer to set my own goals.
I recently finished Far Cry 4 to a 100% (in game tracking) because I enjoyed the game, not because of trophies (I don't even know if there is a trophy for it).
All this dates all the way back to my first X360 game ever - GTA IV. I had no idea there are achievements and what they do. So I start playing - pop pop pop - achievements start unlocking. So I thought it is some kind of reward, I'll get something like a free hat or unlimited ammo or something....and when I found out it is just a number good for nothing, I turned off notifications then and never turned them on again...6 years and counting.
