Because they were expecting to be the dominant console this gen. AAA-budget games these days take at least 2 years to develop, so you can't just throw money and expect a decent AAA game within a few months. You have to plan 3 years in advance, and the fact that they have nothing now and probably next year as well proves that having no games in 2015 and 2016 is exactly what Microsoft planned in 2012. Why? Because they wanted to coast by with only Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable for the rest of the generation with nothing spent on making new IPs. It worked wonderfully well for them last generation, and they wanted to repeat that sucess. And this is why I will never buy anything Xbox related. SONY has proven that they will spend money on making new IPs and consumer-friendly consoles even when they're ahead. Microsoft won't. The instant they're #1, it'll be Halo, Gears, Forza, and Fable until the end of time and a weak next-gen console to cut costs. |
They had terrible support for the last few years of the 360 they should have had every 6 months covered but instead they focused everything on paying 3rd parties for a few average launch exclusives and over crowded the Xmas period.why not delay sunset or halo until March. O gears of war 4.
