It's not like those imported lethal injections are cheap, hell they don't even work half the time. Now that's a real waste of money


To add, death penalty cases actually can cost a lot more because they have to take extra percautions and checks with the legal system, and the extra years of lawyers, legal aid, jury selection, etc for a death penalty case being appealed/worked on multiple times can end up costing even more.

My thought process against the death penalty even as a conservative/libertarian is that I don't want the government having the power to decide life and death over the people. Even if a jury of your peers decides it, lawyers and judges still play a big part in the system itself and sway things in this unidealistic world.
