There is no Amazon security loss, in this I am 100% positive.
Its more likely the pw you used on Amazon is the same or similar to some other account that was hacked like Playstation or Xbox.
EDIT: Reread your OP... you're Amazon account wasn't hacked. Your cc was stolen and they used that to buy something. This has nothing to do with Amazon or likely any other company in that dialymail.... ahem... dailymail.
