Yes, it worked very well.
I also had it open (while still running), the CD would stop spinning and then I took theit off, cleaned it up a little with my shirt, and put it there again and closed it. The game didn't crashed, it just stopped a little there waiting for me to do it, and most of the times would start running again exactly where it stopped after I've done it. And how much I've done it while playing Diablo!

I did that too! And when a CD was too badly scratched... I would use alcohol to clean it. And they worked!!! The good old times of the PS1... *snif* *snif*
