really no reason to lower the price

it just is not going to draw in buyers. if someone wants to play Nintendo games then they aren't going to freak out over a 50$ price difference, especially when it is a cheaper console (despite less powerful) than its competitors

why lower the price if it is unlikely to draw in audiences? Nintendo has a core audience and the Wii U appears not to have pulled in casual gamers. the only way a price drop would help dramatically is IF the casual gamers were there, or heading there, and they're aren't.

sure a price drop might help pull in buyers who are looking for a secondary console, but the majority of people don't have that much extra cash on hand to buy another system + game library / accessories

from a business standpoint it doesn't make much sense. if they (Nintendo) felt pressed like Microsoft is for market share then maybe it would make sense, but I believe Nintendo has already accepted the fact that they won't dominate this generation and now are just concerned with profitability. lowering the console price would help them staying competitive in the generation, not help with profits. i.e. it doesn't make sense to do at this point
