Even if the PS4 in a few years gets so much domination in North America that X1 falls down to Wii U sales in that region, that they both average 150k/week, the Wii U would have to outsell the X1 in EU and JP with great numbers for many years for it to ever "beat" X1 in sales. And I don't think it will ever happen.

In a best case scenario Wii U could be "close" behind X1 in the long run, but how close I am not ready to guess.

The truth is that Wii U sales in NA are decent, but in EU way too low, and JP are okay.
The X1 does really well in NA, okay in EU and horribly in JP.

And of course the NA market is more important in terms of size and sales than JP, so with only NA and no sales what so ever for X1 in EU and JP they could win over Wii U if Wii U can't sell better in EU, especially, but also grow some in JP.

So if Wii U could average 200K in NA, 150K in EU and 50-100K in JP it would greatly improve their current sales. But to catch up to X1, the X1 would have to decrease in sales in NA to Wii U levels, so around 200K in NA, 100-150K in EU and JP 0K.

So the question is, is this even possible? I doubt. But if they PS4 can get a strong market hold in the NA, the X1 sales should go down, but so should the Wii U sales.
