This pretty much proves for the XBO to have a chance, it HAS to be at least $50 cheaper than the PS4, with a couple of games thrown in, in order to compete. It'll also be interesting to see if the XBO will follow a sales pattern similar to the Wii in the 2nd half of its life. Mediocre sales until the holidays, then sales will ramp up incredibly.

Also, one must consider that if anyone is buying a XBO online, they'd be a fool not to get it from Amazon, as you'll save $15 (it was even cheaper during the first week or so of Jan.) Everyone else has it for $399. So sales for XBO on Amazon will probably be slightly inflated when compared to other sites.

If Sony lowers the price next holiday the situation will be even more dire for MS.  If Sony drops to 350 will MS drop to 300 to compete next holiday?

I don't think so.  That would just be too much loss at this point in time, I think.  Especially if they need to include a couple new games in the bundle.  Who knows, though.  I didn't think MS was going to drop it to $349 for two whole months, either.

What if both companies get out a slim model and price it $300?  Possible maybe.
