Microsoft outsold Nintendo albeit with a price cut and other factors such as 3rd party support (and remember even with Big hitters such as MK8 and SSB we are only talking about neck to neck sales at best for Nintendo whist MS had nothing major in terms of games). Even if the Xbox One never had a price cut it was still destined to outsell the WiiU with the holiday sales alone and with more people buying the Xbox One over the WiiU(remember the $349 X1 was US only) it took second place.
