Yes. Definitely. Some of my aunts and uncles were born in "Detention Camps" in the United Sates. All of them have been fiercely and proudly "American". Very patriotic and in a very open, visible and outspoken way. It may seem strange but it makes perfect sense to the Japanese mind. After being persecuted for being (falsely) identified as a threat to the USA and being less than "American" their reaction was to even more "American" than the average American.
