By the absolute huge margins that the XBox sold Wii U, I think its safe to say it was always going to happen regardless of a price cutt. They were selling neck and neck not long after MK8, so the third party titles we saw in Q3/4 was always going to push Xbox beyond the Wii U.

You are assuming a reality where Microsoft didnt do anything and Nintendo didnt do anything. We can be here all day pondering scenarios if one or the other did things differently. The fact here is given the sales values at the time, it was a fair analysis.
