It's as if people hold such loyalties that they care not for their ownership rights whatsoever. What other industry do you have consumers willingly giving up ownership rights? So why is this the future for games? No physical, no 2nd hand market, no lending to friends and family, etc... Why would anyone WANT this to be the future? You don't need to try and destroy retail to move forward with digital. Their entire plan was 100% anti-consumer. They don't give a rat's ass about their userbase and they showed it clear as day. |
If any industry has been whiny about used sales its the gaming industry. They have already eliminated the retail PC market but(if you read my comment above) consoles are a different animal
This is everything the publisher/shareholder side of the industry wants. If the consumer has no other options restricted digital it is. I certainly think we will see it in a gen or 2.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
