He doesn't need to. If he's the author of the list, it is implied. Same reason we don't have to constantly write "IMO" when stating an opinion.

If it was a publication list without a face (for example, just "Edge", "Eurogamer", etc) then yes they'd have to be a bit more specific (is it their view of the whole gaming community opinion? was it staff votes? just one person in charge of making it? what was it exactly?) what kind of list it is. But not when it's made by one person.

edit: What I'm trying to say is that a person speaking for himself is (should?) be the norm, while speaking for others is the exception. therefore, only when doing the latter does one need to specify.
