Because the PS3 was not an utter failure in concept. Not kidding, that is why. Not even bashing here, that is just what happened.

Um the PS3 bled money and had hardware that was difficult to develop for. It was a failed concept and Sony paid the price for it.

Everything you said that I didn't bold is true.  Price and complex hardware were big problems, but once those were fixed - boom no more issues.  Nobody asked for the Wii U -  It is too weak, has too few games, doesn't have enough modern features, and yes costs WAY too much.

The PS3 didn't have some tablet nobody wants jacking up its price.

The PS3

But it lost Sony a lot of money on the PS3, and that's why it is ultimately a failed concept.

Honest question, do you think Sony thinks the PS3 was a successful concept?

So you aren't getting my point.  When I say that the Wii U was a failure in concept - [Another Wii with a Tablet as its gimmick] - I mean the very idea was a failure.  The PS3 had a sound concept - [A premium media console].  Even at its higher price point it sold completely out for a couple months and moved FAR more units than the Wii U did after its launch (Even before price drops).

In fact the point is that people need to stop comparing things to the PS3.  The Wii U for instance is on track to lose to the Dreamcast.  Comparing them only tell me a person doesn't understand the situation.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.
