Because the PS3 was not an utter failure in concept. Not kidding, that is why. Not even bashing here, that is just what happened.

Um the PS3 bled money and had hardware that was difficult to develop for. It was a failed concept and Sony paid the price for it.

Everything you said that I didn't bold is true.  Price and complex hardware were big problems, but once those were fixed - boom no more issues.  Nobody asked for the Wii U -  It is too weak, has too few games, doesn't have enough modern features, and yes costs WAY too much.

The PS3 didn't have some tablet nobody wants jacking up its price.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.
