I agree on this regards, but it is not only that Nintendo lost 3rd party support, it is also true that 3rd party could not loose Sony, if they abandoned Sony console Microsoft would have them under their control and they simple could not afford it, so they kept trying even if the sales were not great, and finally it worked with the help of price adjustments from Sony and better development tools support.
