Well PS3 still had third party support. Also it was the price that killed them not that people did not want it.
Plus they gave a shitload of them with TV promotions well here at least 100,000 in such a small country population wise. So they burned cash to get it out there.
It wa salso ironically marketed as the worlds cheapest bluray player at the time here that could also play games. Everytime people wnated to buy a BluRay player sales staff pushed the PS3 on them.
