The limited memory of the GameCube's miniDVD wasn't such a big of a problem as some want to believe. It caused some troubles, of course, but not to the point some want to believe, and certainly it wasn't the reason why 3rd parties stopped launching their games on it while they did launch them on the Xbox with a similar userbase.

And Nintendo did take into consideration 3rd parties when developing the WiiU, that's why when it was revealed everybody said that it was easy to develop for compared to the xbox360 and PS3, but it's evident that when it comes to the hardware things go wrong at some point.

Oh, and if you really expect Nintendo to develop "more western, mature, AAA", then start looking for a comfortable chair because the wait will be very, very long. It's not in Nintendo's DNA, just like Epic Games couldn't make a good platformer. And what do you mean with "niche games"?

Clearly they didn't, or the Wii U would have been more like the PS4 and XBO, which are virtually identical.

And I didn't say I expected them to. I said that they need to.
