Hah, no, that kind of genre elitism is ridiculous and childish. Just people trying to make themselves feel superior. It's all just pressing buttons in the end.
Platformers are probably my least favorite type of game but I don't pretend that it's inherently worse than any other type. Jumping as a main action just does very little for me on a personal level.
