It's the job of third parties AND Nintendo as platform owner. The build-it-and-they-will-come-attitude doesn't work anymore with so many competitors on the video game market (which includes Steam, Origin, smartphones, tablets, streaming services, mini consoles like Fire TV...)

Nintendo has to actively allure third parties (as well as all the other platform owners) instead of passively waiting for them.

Nintendo currently has 10 projects in the work in co-operation with third party studios for 2015.

This is not counting games like Bravely Second, Youkai Watch or Monster Hunter. Only third party studios where Nintendo is heavily invested with.

That's a start, but they have to do much much more to make their platforms attractive for third parties.

For example: the Wii was the first console Telltale games ported their games to: Strongbad, Sam & Max: Season One, Tales of Monkey Island, Back to the Future, CSI... since than Telltale has added one platform after the other (360... PS3... iOS... Android... Vita... PS4... Xbox One...) and never cut support to any of these platforms.

But since 2011 they are avoiding Nintendo platforms like cancer. So why no Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones or Tales of the Borderlands for WiiU or some older series for 3DS in stereoscopic 3D (most Telltale games look great in 3D)? Can't be a hardware issue, these games are not very demanding.

I don't know why, I assume because Nintendo fans wouldn't buy it. That's why I'm hoping Bayonetta 2's numbers are correct on vgchartz. It has a chance to reach a million sales. Could be overtracked though.

Yes, they need to invest even more in third party studios. Keep in mind that the actual number is actually 11, but I didn't include Pokken Tournament because it has yet to be announced for Wii U (arcades only for now). Games like Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS were also made by a third party studio.
