Releasing one game to an installed base two systems large is absolutely not a terrible idea. Releasing two separate versions of the same game to release on two separate systems instead of releasing two completely different games to be released on one unified platform is a terrible idea.

forget the "versions of the same game thing". two platforms, each with their own DIFFERENT games.
