Seriously, though, from when I was little I was always disappointed that there was never an animated series. But I totally respect him for wanting to maintain the spirit of the series rather than whoring the ever living hell out of it."
This was in response to a 2012 thread about how loaded Bill Watterson would've been had he gone full bore with animated adaptations and merchandising with Calvin and Hobbes. My opinion hasn't changed.
