Like any other country, USA can be right sometimes and wrong some others:
1) Fighting the talibans in afghanistan was right, although it was done in a quite ineffective way, mainly because the problem of Pakistan ambiguity has never been solved
2) Second war against Saddam was wrong, the right time to dethrone him was at latest within 1993, before the rise of al-Qaeda and other sunni jihadist movements
3) The worst error was to not grant the independence of Kurdistan, it would have been one of the few reliable and probably the second most sincerely grateful ally of the Western world in the Middle East. being coward about this issue to not hurt Turkey susceptibility was extremely short-sighted, now Turkey majority has steered for years away from tolerance towards more worrying closed-minded borderline integralist positions, while Kurdistan is being destroyed, slaughtered, pillaged and raped by the bearded donkeys.
