I know this isn't what you're asking, but dude! You are going backpacking across Europe! I say leave the PSP at home. Even if it's just for the planes, and busses, I'd be excited just looking out of the window and talking with my friends. Enjoy the vacation. Savor the atmosphere, and the sights. That PSP and it's games are going to look exactly the same, no matter where you play it. Don't go to Europe, and miss out on what sounds like an awesome experience.
