Well both have their pros and cons.
Electric pros
easy to put refueling infastructure in place.
good performance (good torque. Electic car has been made that can beat a viper in a race)
Many to chose from now.
Emissions.
no oil changes.
Cons
short range (getting better)
Degenerative battery
long recharge
Hydro pros
Fuel should be cheep (hydro is the most abundant resource)
No emission (water)
non degenerative fuel cells.
great range.
Cons
few models.
Few refueling stations.
Expensive.
Personally i like electric cars. They (last i heard) were the still cheeper of the two. I remember a few years ago they were talking about some hydrogen car as the future and it was 250,000. If they came down in price and they put in the fueling stations around then id be willing to change my stance. Once i get a house i fully expect to buy a electric car. Cant wait, although i do love my toyota yaris.
