I still think this won't be a big commercial success, but if it delivers on its promises it will be something really special, also I predict critical acclaim and a really dedicated community (if it delivers).
As far as game design is concerned, this game is definitely one of the most important if it pulls it off, more important than bigger games like MGS 4, Resistance 2 and others.
Also, I'm still hoping you can make a turn based RPG out of LBP among other things (action, puzzle game, Smash style fighting game, platformer).
