Every Company, every generation, release better development tools, and try to utilize at best the available resources.
Today we have an article about X1, tomorrow we will have another one about PS4, and then WiiU.

What will never change is PS4 APU/Architecture >(better) than X1 APU/Architecture >>(way better) than WiiU Architecture. That's all. Not that much to say in this Thread.

Sorry. Thats bullshit. Because hardware architecture without a matching software architecture is worthless.

Also - "better" in what terms? If you take a look at the power consumption the Wii U will win.

Looking from a developers perspective the Wii U is the best as it has the most balanced hardware. Seconds comes X1, third PS4.

As you won't take my words for granted - google what industry veterans like John Carmack have to say. For them the differences between X1 and PS4 a minuscle as both feature more GPU than CPU power. Which is quite the opposite of the last generation.

Both X1 and PS4 have some advantages above each other depending on what type of computations are needed but in the end both deliver the same experience.

And thats what consoles bought for: experiences.

To bad both X1 and PS4 are already handycapped by having to less CPU power to drive real next-gen AI and by having to less GPU power to drive real next-gen display resolutions like 4K or VR headsets and both miss the essential HDMI 1.2 FreeSync feature.

So: basically PS4 and XOne are a "beefed up" Wii U. A between-next-gen Hardware which isn't subsidized as the last generations living from their brand name and exlusives.

At the end this does matter to those who "count pixels" and will be disappointed by what the raw numbers will deliver.

For the rest of us it doesn't matter. But the delivered experiences do. Thats why Nintendos Wii U is still selling well and does better every year... .
