Like I've said before in other threads, Wii U will go on strong through 2017. I bet they will announce it at E3 2017 and release it Holiday 2017, nothing in 2016 just because Nintendo loves its fans and does not want to piss us Wii U owners off after only 4 (3 really) solid years of gaming. 2016 should see the Wii U Metroid and perhaps the F-Zero or Mother we have been begging for.
The ONLY way I see Nintendo releasing this thing any earlier is if they somehow give current Wii U owners a cheap upgrade path or some other huge incentive to go to the new console. Otherwise they will be alienating and pissing off their die-hard fans.
