Why are you completely missing the point? Why do 'building a PC as cheap as consoles' articles exist? Why? There's no point in them whatsoever other than some arbitrary self indulgent nonsense to prove something that is of no importance or consequence. You wouldn't build a cheap PC to complete with consoles, you'd build a cheap PC to compete with expensive PCs.

For the budget buyer. There are plenty of people on consoles who want to get into PC gaming, but think it would cost them close to $1000 to do so. The point is to show that PC gaming has become vastly cheaper than it was in the past, and if they want to play their games on PC without spending an arm and a leg they can do so.
