Do people not think that that the reason of the redesigns so quick for the previous consoles was because of the problems the early designs had in terms of reliability? Didn't the original Xbox360 go through three internal changes before going to slim all to reduce failure rate and heat?
The thing is, the consoles this time around so far seem to be much more reliable and less prone to breaking down. So in that case I don't think a change is imminent and won't happen for a couple of years to give console sales a bit of a "kick start" as and when needed.
