Pretty much. Unless your network is so ridiculously huge that stuffing it become impractically (e.g. google), there's little you can do to effectively stop a DDoS. The only reason this one is particularly new worthy is the date it happend. The event itself is pretty common.

What I actually want to see from them is taking down the networks for at least a week. Short term attacks are easy. If they are able to keep it up for weeks, only then they have real leverage. Until then they're nothing more than a slight annoyance.
