Wii U shows that Nintendo cannot do things by halves. They either need to match the competition pound for pound in all respects, or should forge their own path. The latter is much more feasible because of the impasse Nintendo has reached with the major third parties, as successfully courting them would be a monstrous cost.


That is why, even though we (ninty fans) all want the most power as possible, I actually think the next N-console will be weaker than XB1/PS4.  Why?  Because the home version will be optional, a small insignificant box with the main platform being the handheld (which will be more powerful than usual launch Ninty HHs).  If the HH is around 200 gflops, I expect the home console to be 800 gflops but not more than 1 tflop max.
