I'm sure when people see this game on the shelves when it is released, and see the advertising for it, if they don't have a PS3 they will buy one and as a result will likely pick up the 1st game to know what happens!
I mean i will be picking up the GOW games to see what happens before i buy the 3rd one :D
I wouldn't be surprised to see Resistance's sales spike around the launch of this game!
