I depise that game and it's sequels. It's an rpg that's not really an rpg. There's no town, shops, inns to explore. The so called game world is utterly empty. There's not many characters. It's more linear than a typical FPS game. That's just the gripes I had with it that I can remember.

You're better off buying the game used, give it a couple of days and if you don't like it, take it back for full credit.

There's nothing wrong with being linear.

There isn't, all FFs are linear to an extent but FF13 really takes the cake. To me, it was so linear to the point where I feel like I literally was going down hallways and there was no feeling of a world to explore. Even FFX, despite its linearity still made me feel like I was exploring a huge world, that's not the case with FFXIII imo.
